On October 11th, those attending the Americas Champions Cup in Burnaby, British Columbia, witnessed the beginning of a dynasty. For the second year in a row, the Atlanta Synergy won the Cup convincingly. Synergy’s new addition from France, Tristan Delmas came into the tournament looking to make an impression. He did just that by winning the Golden Guard Award for scoring the most goals over the weekend with twenty. While the Captain of Tampa Thunder who came in second place, Ben Carpenter, won the Golden Ball Award for being the Most Valuable Player. The Most Sportsmanlike Award was shared between Jerry Frick from Atlanta Tigers, Robert Book from San Jose Steamrollers, and David Ruelas from Atlanta Synergy. As it was stated, Tampa Thunder came in second while the San Jose Steamrollers ended up in third place. Finally, the selected athletes to the All-Tournament Team were:

The Honourable Stephanie Cadieux, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development presented the awards to the teams and players on October 11, 2010.
SportAbility BC hosted the Americas Champions Cup (ACC) from October 9-11, 2010 at the Bonsor Recreation Complex in Burnaby, BC.
The ACC is a yearly tournament between the top 8 Powerchair Football clubs in the America’s region and competitiors this year come from Canada and the United States. This exciting international competition will see teams from all across the continent battle it out to be crowned the top Powerchair Football club in the Americas.
