Hello Everybody!

SportAbility is pleased to announce that we have officially become a “Feature Charity” of the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5K in Stanley Park on June 22 2014With the goal of raising a total of $10,000 for SportAbility, we are seeking out members to become a part of our team.

With just over 40 days away from the Half Marathon & 5K, we would like to invite you, your family and friends to be a member of the SportAbility team and run for a good cause – raising funds for affordable physical activity programs for our athletes.

Participants with wheelchairs, powered-wheelchairs, strollers and pets are all welcomed to join us for the 5K. However, due to the competitive nature of the Half-marathon, we are informed that racing chair athletes would be the only type of chair permitted in the Half-marathon segment of the event.

As a member of SportAbility, your registration fee will be fully covered by us. Along with the swag pack from the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5K 2014, you will also be receiving a SportAbility Team Shirt.

We are currently recruiting a team of twenty runners.  In order to accomplish our collective goal of $10,000, we would need our runners to commit to raise $500 individually.  We would like you to help us to spread the word and let your neighbors and friends know the importance of affordable physically activity programs for people with a disability. Different from many other donation platforms, all donations collected in the Half Marathon & 5K will be sent directly from the donor through the online fundraising platform to SportAbility with absolutely no administrative fees or service charge from Scotia Bank. Our members and athletes will benefit directly from the donation received from this event.

Please support us by joining the SportAbility Team in participating in the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5K 2014. If you would like register for the event, or have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email or contact Angus Ng at 604-599-5240 for more information regarding the event.

Have a great weekend!
