SportAbility’s Coach Masterclass
Welcome to SportAbility’s Coach Masterclass. The purpose of this program is to provide individuals seeking a coaching role with a progressive structure that can support building their confidence and proficiency to become a strong sport leader while implementing a safe sport environment in one or more of SportAbility’s identified sports (Boccia, Para Ice Hockey, and Power Soccer). We are currently running a pilot program of the Coach Masterclass for current SportAbility coaches and volunteers. Note that this process will also require undergoing SportAbility’s updated screening process for staff and volunteers.Financial support is also available for these groups within budget limits.
If you are not currently affiliated with SportAbility but are interested in participating in the Coach Masterclass, please contact us to learn more. Note that coaches will be required to become a member of the organization before beginning with their first program or event.

Pathway 1: Responsible Coaching
All SportAbility affiliated coaches, officials, program volunteers, and sport assistants must complete the Responsible Coaching pathway.
Estimated time to complete: 8hr + Emergency First Aid
Pathway 2: Community Coach
An individual who leads community programs or instructs at SportAbility events.
Estimated time to complete: 25hrs + mentorship hours
Pathway 3: Developing Coach
An Individual seeking a coaching position for a development or provincial team.
Estimated time to complete: 19-45hrs of course work.
Pathway 4: Advanced Coaching
An individual who is expanding their knowledge to high performance.
Estimated time to complete: 28-45hrs of course work.
