SportAbility is a Provincial disability sport organization who provides access to sport for British Columbians with physical disabilities. Our sports include Boccia, Para Hockey, Powerchair Soccer, CP/Para Soccer and Frame Running. SportAbility is seeking a Para Hockey Program Lead and Regional Sport Coordinator to lead the planning and delivery of the Victoria Para Hockey program, and to support other community events, programs and activities in Victoria. The successful candidate will work closely with the Sport Development Coordinator and report directly to the Executive Director.

This role is offered on a contract basis until April 2027, at which time the role will be reviewed.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and coordinate the Victoria Para Hockey program at JDF Arena.
  • Support athletes, volunteers, and program operations.
  • Help plan and deliver community events, skills camps, and outreach activities.
  • Assist with the growth of Para Hockey, Boccia, Power Soccer, CP Soccer, and Frame Running in the region.
  • Build relationships with community partners and help connect people with adaptive sport opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for sport, recreation, and inclusion.
  • Experience or interest in coaching, leadership, or community programs.
  • Comfortable on ice skates; hockey experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience working with diverse populations or a willingness to learn

Position Details

  • Part-time contract position (approximately 8 hours/week, September–April)
  • Hybrid role based in Victoria, including Saturday afternoon programming at JDF Arena
  • $20–$22/hour
  • Ideal for students or recent graduates in sport, recreation, kinesiology, or related fields.
