SportAbility is saddened by the news of the recent passing of Ian Wright. On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Ian Wright, son and brother of Johanna, Mel, and Brendan Wright, passed away suddenly to Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of 28.

Ian was a long time and founding member of the Okanagan Thunderchairs in Kelowna, BC.

He was a multi-time member of Team BC, and Team Canada 2017, which competed at the 2017 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup in Kissimmee Florida, USA. He was a skillful power soccer player, and gave his all when competing at Provincial, National, and International levels of play.

His focus and determination would always be clear in every game he played. We will always remember Ian’s kind nature and his bright smile that never failed to spread joy.
